Getting there
By air
Aden Adde International Airport (MGQ) is the main entry point to Mogadishu, connecting with regional and international hubs including Nairobi, Addis Ababa, Djibouti and Istanbul. The airport has modern facilities, and a range of airlines serve the route, including Turkish Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines and local carriers.
On arrival, use pre-arranged hotel transfers or reliable taxi services. Hotels near the venue provide secure shuttle services — confirm this with your accommodation provider.

Travel essentials
Power, packing, health and staying connected.
Power supply
220 V, 50 Hz; Type C and Type F sockets. Interruptions can occur, though hotels and the venue have backup generators. Bring a universal adapter and a power bank.
Clothing
Lightweight, breathable clothing for the warm climate; modest attire — long skirts or trousers, long sleeves — and a light jacket for evenings. A hat, sunglasses and a scarf help against the sun.
Documents
Passport, visa, invitation letter, travel insurance policy and copies of all key documents.
Personal care and health
Essential toiletries, a reusable water bottle, sunblock, hand sanitiser and personal medication. Wash hands frequently, avoid street food, drink bottled or filtered water.
SIM cards and internet
Hormuud, Somtel and Golis sell SIMs at the airport and city outlets (passport needed). 4G is reliable in Mogadishu; a local data plan is affordable.
Mobile money
EVC Plus, WAAFI and Premier Wallet are used everywhere for cashless payments and transfers. Set up an account after arrival with your local SIM.

Shopping tips: bargaining is common in markets; malls have fixed prices. Payment is mostly cash (USD preferred); debit cards work at larger stores.
