Common Questions

The East African Community Conference 2026 (EACON 2026) is a two-day regional conference taking place 12–13 October 2026 in Mogadishu, Somalia, under the theme “Deepening Domestication Through Competitive Markets, Strategic Investments and Human Capital Development.”

EACON 2026 convenes approximately 100–200 participants including federal government institutions, EAC Secretariat representatives, parliamentarians, development partners, institutional investors, private-sector representatives, universities and youth and women’s organisations. EACON 2026 invites researchers, academics, policymakers and practitioners to contribute to moderator-led Research & Policy Dialogues. Abstracts are reviewed through an anonymised blind-review process — see the Call for Abstracts for full guidelines.

Yes. EACON 2026 is designed as a regional dialogue and welcomes delegates from all eight EAC member states as well as development partners and institutions across the region. See the Travel, Visa & Accommodation page for entry guidance.
