The East Africa Community Conference EACON 2024
The East Africa Community Conference (EACON 2024) is pleased to announce a call for papers for its upcoming conference, to be held on June 24th-25th, 2024 in Mogadishu, Somalia. EACON 2024 serves as a platform for scholars, policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders to discuss and exchange ideas on regional integration, economic collaboration, and sustainable development within the East African Community (EAC). EACON is co organized by SIMAD University, University of Bayreuth, Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA), GIZ, Dalsan Media, TGCL, Somali chamber of Commerce, Somali Nataional University (SNU) and Ministry of Education Culture, and Higher Education.
EACON 2024 aims to foster solidarity, communal growth, and shared knowledge among the East African Community. We invite papers that contribute to the understanding and advancement of the conference theme, “Strengthening Regional Cooperation in East Africa Community”.
Sub-Themes/Areas of interest for this conference include, but are not limited to:
- Trade, economic development, and investment promotion,
- Migration issues in East African communities
- Agriculture development and food security.
- Fostering social cohesion and understanding between diverse cultures.
- Reinforcing cooperation among East African communities
- Protecting the environment and addressing climate change issues.
- Legal challenges associated with East African Community (EAC) membership,
- Peace-making efforts, conflict settling, and safety.
Papers should be original and not previously published or under review elsewhere. The deadline for submission is 1st May, 2024. Full paper submission guideline
Papers should be submitted via email to papers@eaccon.com. The selection of papers will be conducted by a scientific committee, and authors will be notified of acceptance by May 30th, 2024.
