The East Africa Community Conference (EACON2025) invites researchers, academics, policymakers, private sector actors, and development practitioners to submit abstracts and full papers for presentation at its upcoming regional conference in Mogadishu, Somalia, scheduled for October 07–08, 2025.
Themed “Advancing Productive Sector Cooperation for Socioeconomic Transformation in the East African Community,” EACON2025 aims to stimulate evidence-based discourse and collaboration that supports regional integration, innovation, and inclusive development across East Africa.
The conference provides a platform for knowledge sharing and cross-sector engagement, offering participants the opportunity to shape regional policy and practice through scholarly research and dialogue.
Thematic Tracks
Contributors are encouraged to align their work with one of the following core thematic areas:
1. Agriculture & Food Security
- Artificial intelligence and precision agriculture
- Climate-smart agriculture and resilience frameworks
- Data-driven farming and smart irrigation systems
- Strengthening regional value chains and Somalia’s integration into EAC agro-trade
2. Digital Payments & Financial Inclusion
- FinTech innovations, mobile payment systems, and regulatory frameworks
- Blockchain technology, cybersecurity, and financial identity systems
- Financial literacy for vulnerable populations
- Public-private partnerships for financial inclusion
3. Trade Facilitation & Economic Integration
- Addressing non-tariff barriers and improving cross-border logistics
- Harmonization of trade policies and regulations
- AfCFTA implementation and regional trade frameworks
- Infrastructure development and investment alignment
Submission Guidelines
Participants are invited to submit abstracts, full papers, or e-posters that present original, high-quality research, conceptual, empirical, or theoretical with practical relevance to the East African context. Submissions must adhere to the following format and schedule:

- Notification of Abstract Acceptance: July 15, 2025
- Full Paper Submission Deadline: August 30, 2025
- Final Paper Acceptance Notification: September 25, 2025
- Final Presentation File Deadline: September 25, 2025 (by 15:00 EAT)
