The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ): German Development Cooperation (GIZ)), often simply shortened to GIZ, is the main German development agency. It is headquartered in Bonn and Eschborn and provides services in the field of international development cooperation and international education work. The organization’s self-declared goal is to deliver effective solutions that offer people better prospects and sustainably improve their living conditions.

The ministry has put in a lot of work in recent years to enhance its capability and carry out its purpose by developing policies and regulations that assist the management and delivery of education in the country.

Somali National University (SNU) (Somali: Jaamacadda Ummadda Soomaaliyeed, Arabic: الجامعة الوطنية الصومالية, Italian: Università Nazionale Somala) is a national university in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia. Its campus grounds were located four kilometers from the Mogadishu International Airport (Aden Adde International Airport). It was established in 1971, but was “officially” founded in 1954. It closed in 1990. After closing down for a number of years, the university reopened in August 2014
